21st Century and Women in India

Whatis is about Hinduism that compels rich and poor Hindus to kill their daughters? Why is it that Muslims and Christians in India are not as susceptible to the same practices? Some argue that it is the Hindu scriptures that direct such practices.
  • “Killing of a woman, a Shudra or an atheist is not sinful. Woman is an embodiment of the worst desires, hatred, deceit, jealousy and bad character. Women should never be given freedom.” Bhagvad Gita (Manu IX. 17 and V. 47, 147)”
  • Similarly another holy script of Hindu religious book preaches looking down upon women by terming a woman equal to a dog, crow and shudra (a low cast poor Hindu who has no rights in Hindu society).
  • “And whilst not coming into contact with Sudras and remains of food; for this Gharma is he that shines yonder, and he is excellence, truth, and light; but woman, the Sudra, the dog, and the black bird (the crow), are untruth: he should not look at these, lest he should mingle excellence and sin, light and darkness, truth and untruth.” – Satapatha Brahmana 14:1:1:31.
Women harassed in “Incredible India”: Female genocide-Persistent ogling, heckling by Indian men. GENDER MURDER:-10 million baby girls killed before & after birth: Female gender genocide is destroying male female ratio in India. The tragedy of the unborn in India is a holocaust of catastrophic proportions. The murder of girl babies right after birth is the silent plague of our times and has to be stopped. A country that spends billions on arms cannot stop the barbaric practices of widow burning? The silent scream of the girls and women in India are drowned out by song and dance of Bollywood. The shrieks of the baby girls who are fed pesticide or simply strangled are not heard by the Western media that is bent upon portraying a false picture of modernity and power. Hiding the truth about Bharat serves the purposes of the new “East India Company”. Those who hide the truth are complicit in this murder. The world has to speak up against the genocide.
A study of Tamil Nadu by the Community Service Guild of Madras similarly found that “female infanticide is rampant” in the state, though only among Hindu (rather than Moslem or Christian) families.
John-Thor Dahlburgpoints out, “in rural India, the centuries-old practice of female infanticide can still be considered a wise course of action.” (Dahlburg, “Where killing baby girls ‘is no big sin’,” The Los Angeles Times [in The Toronto Star, February 28, 1994.])
There are 50 million stories  about the brutal practice of girl infanticide. The strange thing about it is that the culling of baby girls is prevalent in Hindu families and not Christian or Muslim families. The murder of baby girls right before and after birth spreads across the spectrum–rich Brahmans to poor Khasatriyas etc. The female genocide goes on in rural as well as urban Hinduism. If baby girls finally are able to survive andgrow up, they are virtualslaves in rural Bharat. If the husbanddies, they are supposed to die on the funeralpyre with the husband. In rural Bharat–far from the maddening red light districts of Mumbai andDelhi, if the poor widow survives her husband, she is incarcerated in temples to be sold as prostitutes.
“There is a little-known battle for survival going in some parts of the world. Those at risk are baby girls, and the casualties are in the millions each year. The weapons being used against them are prenatal sex selection, abortion and female infanticide – the systematic killing of girls soon after they are born.”
The imbalances are also giving rise to a commercial sex trade; the 2005 report states that up to 800,000 people being trafficked across borders each year, and as many as 80 percent are women and girls, most of whom are exploited.
Indian Hindus abort their daughters, kill them at birth, or setfire to them when the husband dies. Surviving widows are incarcerated in temples as prositutes
Bharat is fast becoming the land of the boys. The infanticide of girls is changing the male female ratio and many males are without wives. Despite the shortage of women the infanticide goes on.
John Thor-Dahlburgnotes that “In Jaipur, capital of the western state of Rajasthan, prenatal sex determination tests result in an estimated 3,500 abortions of female fetuses annually,” according to a medical-college study. (Dahlburg, “Where killing baby girls ‘is no big sin’.”) Most strikingly, according to UNICEF, “A report from Bombay in 1984 on abortions after prenatal sex determination stated that 7,999 out of 8,000 of the aborted fetuses were females. Sex determination has become a lucrative business.”(Zeng Yi et al., “Causes and Implications of the Recent Increase in the Reported Sex Ratio at Birth in China,” Population and Development Review, 19: 2 [June 1993], p. 297.)
GENDER MURDER IN INDIA:-50 million baby girls killed before and after birth
  • INDIA 1990: 25 million more males than females in India.
  • INDIA 2001: The male female gender gap had risen to 35 million.
  • INDIA Now 50 million. 51 districts in India now have more male babies born compared to female, according to UNICEF. “In 80 per cent of districts in India, the situation is getting worse“.
  • According to a recent United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) State of the World Population Report, these practices, combined with neglect, have resulted in at least 50 million “missing” girls in India
  • As John-Thor Dahlburgpoints out, “in rural India, the centuries-old practice of female infanticide can still be considered a wise course of action.” (Dahlburg, “Where killing baby girls ‘is no big sin’,” The Los Angeles Times [in The Toronto Star, February 28, 1994.])
Abortion, Female Infanticide, Foeticide, Son preference in India. India’s female to male ratio is 100 males to 93 females compared to a world average of 100 males to 105 females.
Tradition and religious edict in Hindu culture demands that the widow be burnt on the funeral pyre of the husband. The seminal film “Water” sheds light on the plight of Women and “White Widows” in which Depa Mehta sheds light on the issue of surviving widows in “India”. These “White Widows” are only allowed to wear “white” (hence the term “White Widows”) and are considered cursed and jinxed. They are ostracized from society and cannot live with any of the surviving relatives. In rare cases where the “White Widow” lives with the relatives, her life is worse than that of the slave. Dehumanized she is relegated to menial jobs, worse off than indentured servants, the “White Widow” is made to suffer a life of invisibility. Even her shadow is considered cursed.
According to a recent report by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) up to 50 million girls and women are missing from India’ s population as a result of systematic gender discrimination in India. In most countries in the world, there are approximately 105 female births for every 100 males.
In India, there are less than 93 women for every 100 men in the population. The accepted reason for such a disparity is the practice of female infanticide in India, prompted by the existence of a dowry system which requires the family to pay out a great deal of money when a female child is married. For a poor family, the birth of a girl child can signal the beginning of financial ruin and extreme hardship.
However this anti-female bias is by no means limited to poor families. Much of the discrimination is to do with cultural beliefs and social norms. These norms themselves must be challenged if this practice is to stop.
Diagnostic teams with ultrasound scanners which detect the sex of a child advertise with catchlines such as spend 600 rupees now and save 50,000 rupees later.
The implication is that by avoiding a girl, a family will avoid paying a large dowry on the marriage of her daughter. According to UNICEF, the problem is getting worse as scientific methods of detecting the sex of a baby and of performing abortions are improving.
These methods are becoming increasing available in rural areas of India, fuelling fears that the trend towards the abortion of female foetuses is on the increase
Women harassed in “Incredible India”: Female genocide-Persistent ogling, heckling by Indian men. GENDER MURDER:-10 million baby girls killed before & after birth: Female gender genocide is destroying male female ratio in India
Deepak Mehta shows the plight of one woman–a story which personifies the neglect which according to her is faced by 50 million other Indian women. Mehta shows the reality of India in which millions of these “White Widows” are incarcerated in temples and then sold as prostitutes to keep their upkeep.
Deepak Mehta’s Canadian film was banned in many parts of India
The discrimination is not limited to unborn or recently born females in India. When a husband dies, the widow is supposed to die with her. Millions follow this tradition every year. Thousands are burnt alive against their will. Hundreds survive and show up in Trauma Centers in the cities. Many are never heard of in the villages. Deepak Mehta has personified these stories on film. All her films are banned in India and her life has been threatened.
As John-Thor Dahlburgpoints out, “in rural India, the centuries-old practice of female infanticide can still be considered a wise course of action.” (Dahlburg, “Where killing baby girls ‘is no big sin’,” The Los Angeles Times [in The Toronto Star, February 28, 1994.]) According to census statistics, “From 972 females for every 1,000 males in 1901 … the gender imbalance has tilted to 929 females per 1,000 males. … In the nearly 300 poor hamlets of the Usilampatti area of Tamil Nadu [state], as many as 196 girls died under suspicious circumstances [in 1993] … Some were fed dry, unhulled rice that punctured their windpipes, or were made to swallow poisonous powdered fertilizer. Others were smothered with a wet towel, strangled or allowed to starve to death.” Dahlburg profiles one disturbing case from Tamil Nadu:
Lakshmi already had one daughter, so when she gave birth to a secondgirl, she killed her. For the three days of her second child’s short life, Lakshmi admits, she refused to nurse her. To silence the infant’s famished cries, the impoverished village woman squeezed the milky sap from an oleander shrub, mixed it with castor oil, and forced the poisonous potion down the newborn’s throat. The baby bled from the nose, then died soon afterward. Female neighbors buried her in a small hole near Lakshmi’s square thatched hut of sunbaked mud. They sympathized with Lakshmi, and in the same circumstances, some would probably have done what she did. For despite the risk of execution by hanging and about 16 months of a much-ballyhooed government scheme to assist families with daughters, in some hamlets of … Tamil Nadu, murdering girls is still sometimes believed to be a wiser course than raising them. “A daughter is always liabilities. How can I bring up a second?” Lakshmi, 28, answered firmly when asked by a visitor how she could have taken her own child’s life eight years ago. “Instead of her suffering the way I do, I thought it was better to get rid of her.” (All quotes from Dahlburg, “Where killing baby girls ‘is no big sin’.”)
A study of Tamil Nadu by the Community Service Guild of Madras similarly found that “female infanticide is rampant” in the state, though only among Hindu (rather than Moslem or Christian) families. “Of the 1,250 families covered by the study, 740 had only one girl child and 249 agreed directly that they had done away with the unwanted girl child. More than 213 of the families had more than one male child whereas half the respondents had only one daughter.” (Malavika Karlekar, “The girl child in India: does she have any rights?,” Canadian Woman Studies, March 1995.)
The bias against females in India is related to the fact that “Sons are called upon to provide the income; they are the ones who do most of the work in the fields. In this way sons are looked to as a type of insurance. With this perspective, it becomes clearer that the high value given to males decreases the value given to females.” (Marina Porras, “Female Infanticide and Foeticide”.) The problem is also intimately tied to the institution of dowry, in which the family of a prospective bride must pay enormous sums of money to the family in which the woman will live after marriage. Though formally outlawed, the institution is still pervasive. “The combination of dowry andwedding expenses usually add up to more than a million rupees ([US] $35,000). In India the average civil servant earns about 100,000 rupees ($3,500) a year. Given these figures combined with the low status of women, it seems not so illogical that the poorer Indian families would want only male children.” (Porras, “Female Infanticide and Foeticide”.) Murders of women whose families are deemed to have paid insufficient dowry have become increasingly common, and receive separate case-study treatment on this site.Gendercide

American Claim of Victory in Afghanistan

It was only few days after 9/11 that the strongest nation on earth declared a full fledge war with the support of its EU and non-EU allies on Afghanistan. Afghanistan was governed at that time by Talibans. It was a war between a country that had most sophisticated war technology and billions of dollars investment each year on defence against a country that had no formal army, no air force, no heavy artillery and no missile technology. This war is still going on even after a decade has passed. In last few days, US President Obama announced that US is starting to pull out its troops from Afghanistan meaning a beginning to the end of this decade long war.

Two questions can be asked at this moment (announcement of US troops withdrawal). One is that whether US has won this war? Is USA a safe place post 9/11 as compared to pre 9/11? Well the answer to the first question is straight away NO and the announcement to pull out American troops from Afghanistan is just a political move to win a favourable position for President Obama for 2012 elections. When a decade ago, US launched an attack on Afghanistan, they succeeded in removing the Talibans from government but what else they gained. Talibans moved away from Kabul and are still fighting with the same passion as they were in 2001. The current government of President Hamid Karzai has no control even on 50 percent of Afghanistan. In fact the position of Talibans is much stronger now as US has accepted to negotiate with them. This means that these Talibans will play a role in the future of Afghanistan. Then what was the purpose of spending billions of dollars on this war if at the end one has to again give the future of Afghanistan to the same people against whom they launched this war? What is the point of killing thousands of civilians when you at the end will give power in the same hands whom you removed from government? Why not these billions of dollars were invested on the well being of Afghanistan rather than on a war which gained you nothing but shook your own economy from bottom to top plus thousands of casualties at US part? Today Talibans still have control on many provinces of Afghanistan and the country itself has economically gone many years back because of this war. Imagine what difference it would have on people of Afghanistan if only 25 percent of the amount spent on war would have actually been spent on people.

Second question is that is USA safer today than pre 9/11? NO. Today majority of Muslims hate USA because of its aggressive and unjust strategies. Even if we exclude the Muslim nations, people from within USA are now involved in these terrorist activities. Many terror plots have been foiled from within USA. Besides this, look at Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Somalia and many other Muslim countries. People in all of these countries hate USA. Now if so many people hate USA then how come one thinks that USA is a safe place to live today? It is true that US successfully killed Osama Bin Laden but does that make this world or US safer. The ideology is still there. Al-Qaeda is now seeking revenge from US and its allies over the death of its leader. The way Osama Bin Laden’s death was handled; many in Muslim countries now consider him as a hero. And of course there is no shortage of people who will follow his ideology. Will they forgive US? Never.

Therefore, the government and especially people of US should realize that they have not won this war. The actual war is not won through battlefields, one has to pursue justly policies and respect others. Only then you will be a safe place to live. Otherwise, get ready for many more 9/11s to come.

Criticizing...Criticizing...Criticizing

Pakistan is passing through its most difficult time which will surely decide that what kind of future it will have. On one hand we have extremism and terrorism while on the other hand we have corruption, lawlessness and weak economy. The only institute which was stable in the history of Pakistan was armed forces of Pakistan and now even that institute is being pushed to the wall but unfortunately by our own people.

I am not a blind supporter of army. I also know that there are blunders (Lal Masjid, Balochistan operation, Kharotabad incident, intelligence failure on Osama Bin Laden, PNS attack and killing of young boy in Karachi) done by our armed forces. But does that mean that each and everything they have done is wrong? NO. What should be the behaviour of an educated person? How they should behave in this situation? I feel very terrible when I see that our educated persons put blame for each and everything on army. One should look into the whole picture and present their views based on realities. We should criticize our armed forces where they were wrong like the incidents mentioned above but at the same time we should also point out the positive effects we have on our country due to our armed forces.

Our armed forces are not angels. People in these institutes are human and they also err. We should hold accountable to them for their mistakes but this accountability and criticism should be positive. Abusing armed forces will not fix our issues. We are an independent state because of these soldiers. Otherwise how many of us would volunteer to go just for one day in Sianchin and defend the borders. It is quite easy to sit in air condition rooms and criticize.

People are saying that our armed forces and agencies should be under civilian control. Well as a matter of fact, they already are according to the law. Now if these people (President and Prime Minister of Pakistan) are not capable of handling or controlling the armed forces then why to blame forces for that. We all know that how pure our political leaders are. I am also of the view that armed forces should only defend the borders of Pakistan but then who will defend our country internally? Are our politicians fit for this job? No not at all. So first our politicians should show that they have the capabilities to run this country then I am with all those who say that armed forces should be strictly under civilian control. If one argues that current leadership should handle our institutions (armed forces), then I must disagree over the capabilities of our current political regime.

Whether it is a natural disaster like earthquake, flood or any war, it was our armed forces that helped this nation not our political regime. So we should highlight the positive steps of our army and criticize and hold accountable to them as well for their wrong doings.

Saluting the Armed Forces of Pakistan

Recently there has been a planned propaganda against the armed forces of Pakistan in international media that they are incapable of defending their country and especially nuclear arsenals. One can understand if this propaganda is hyped by the enemies of Pakistan that why they are doing so but unfortunately our own politicians and media are spreading this misconception (not able to defend country and nuclear weapons) among the people of Pakistan and by doing so they are also helping the enemies of Pakistan in some way. They do not have the vision of this problem that if they continue to malign Pakistan’s armed forces then what impact it can have on country. Armies can never succeed in any war without the support of their nation and same is the case with us. We have to support our armed forces in order to fight these terrorists and our other enemies.

Before going further, let me first list some of the sacrifices made but our forces which will show that they are the ones who are fighting against our enemies. It’s not the politicians or the media who is fighting this war. Both have failed to deliver their responsibilities. It’s the armed forces of Pakistan which are ensuring the safety of these politicians and media. Some of the attacks on our armed forces are:

1.    13th September 2007: 20 commandoes embraced martyrdom in a suicide attack on army officer’s mess in Tarbela Ghazi.
2.       24th November, 2007: 28 men of ISI were martyred in a suicide attack on ISI bus.
3.   21st August, 2008: 70 people embraced martyrdom in two suicide attacks on Pakistan Ordinance Factory (POF) Wah Cantt.
4.    14 and 25 Dec, 2008: Attack on former President of Pakistan General Pervez Musharaf in which 20 people   were martyred including armed personnel.
5.      27th August, 2009: 22 armed forces personnel were martyred in a suicide attack during aftar time.
6.    10th October, 2009: An attack on GHQ took life of 22 people including 5 SSG commandoes.
7.  24th May, 2011: An attack on PNS, Mahran, Karachi in which were 12 personnel were martyred.

This list goes on. Thousands of personnel from our armed forces have sacrificed their lives against these enemies of Pakistan (whether it is Talibans or any other country). But in return what are they getting today? A bad reputation from our so called politicians and free media. I remember when one reporter of private TV channel was killed in a blast, they gave him coverage for more than 50 days and each day they cried by countdown that why the culprits so far have not been arrested. Is there any media channel in Pakistan which highlights the losses of armed forces in the same way? Some media reporters and anchors only praise armed forces when they are attacked and forget everything the next day. My request to them is that if you cannot praise their sacrifices on daily basis then please do not malign them as well.

Next I thank my beloved politicians. No country needs outside enemies if they have politicians like Pakistan have in its parliament.  They are so much sincere to Pakistan that the day USA attacked Abbottabad they were busy in making new political coalitions just to ensure the safety of their own agenda of ruling Pakistan. Right now Pakistan does not have a foreign minister which is a very key post for any country. How can we communicate our policies to others when we do not have this person? The day PNS was attacked, our defence minister was not in Pakistan and his absence from Pakistan’s soil was based on political grounds. He was not on a foreign mission to serve Pakistan and even after this attack there is no statement by him so far. Our National Assembly Speaker was not in Pakistan for many days due to political issues with her own political party. What else we can expect from these so called Parliamentarians? Those who got elected due to more than 300 million fake votes are running this country. Those who do not have any experience and vision of making foreign policy, how to run a country, how to fight terrorism and so many other things are deciding the fate of this nation.

To my understanding, these politicians and media person (not all) are not doing anything which will be better for our armed forces and even for Pakistan in longer run. They are creating mistrust between our armed forces and common people and this is what is required by our enemies. Of course once this mistrust is created, any enemy can attack Pakistan and then it will be difficult for our armed forces to defend our soil without the support of nation. I am not saying here that they are playing in the hands of enemies or they have a secret mission or they are traitors, it’s just that they do not have any vision to understand things.

Our armed forces have already sacrificed enough for the security of this country and they are still doing so and I have no doubt that they will continue to do so. Our politicians should understand this thing that those who are guarding their country in hot and cold weathers are sacrificing more than those who are sitting in AC rooms and getting millions of rupees without even having appropriate experience or knowledge of what they are doing. We should solute our armed forces and stay behind them. As long as they are there, our country, this nation and our assets including nuclear are in SAFE hands.

Division of Nation on War on Terror: Who is Responsible?

Till today Pakistan has sacrificed approximately 35,000 people including both civilians and armed forces personnel in war on terror. Besides these sacrifices, Pakistan also faced economic losses in billions of dollars and still our nation is divided over this issue of terrorism. People are arguing that whether this war is our war or America’s? Is Pakistan army killing its own people (Taliban)? Thing to understand here is that who is responsible for this division of nation? Why can’t we produce a one point agenda against this war or Talibans? Is army responsible for this? If not who else?

Well to my understanding, people of Pakistan follow any of these three entities. (1) Religious ulemas (2) Politicians (3) Armed forces. The blame should be on any of these three forces but who. I think that FIRST our ulemas (not all) have not played their due role. They have not categorically denied actions of Talibans. They do condemn their acts publically but we all know that they have relationships with them. Why can’t ulemas of Pakistan sit together and present a joint FATWA against Talibans that whatever they are doing is wrong and whoever will support them either physically, financially or spreading their views is also doing wrong. Some sects do deny the acts of these terrorism but not all. In Pakistan, there are still ulemas who are not shunning Talibans. They are also responsible for this bloodshed of 35,000 martyrs if they are not denying their acts.

Second force which needs to be blamed is our politicians. They are all doing politics on this serious issue which is a threat to the existence of Pakistan. Our parliament has no strategy against this war. What they know is only to get bullet proof cars for themselves, security for their families and making money. They have no interest in this that how many people are dying or how miserable people are due to this war.

Third force which people of Pakistan follow is our armed force. Earlier our armed forces were much respected among the eyes of common people. But now from few years back, they have been pushed to the wall and a gap is being created deliberately between nation and armed forces. I will not totally blame Pakistan army for whatever is happening in Pakistan because what can armed forces of a country do if their own politician and religious leaders are not with them? Armed forces do not unite nations, it’s the politicians and religious leaders who unite them and in Pakistan’s case they have failed to do this. Situation gets worsened when we come to know that there are Taliban minded people in armed forces as well. But once again who is responsible for that? Answer is our ulemas. I believe that if all sects of Islam (Shia, barelwi, Deobandi, Ahle Hadith etc) in Pakistan sit together and decide that no maulwi or aalim from their sect will support these Talibans in anyway; nation will get united against these people. Of course a society in which people love their religious leaders to this extent that they would like to die for them they will obviously listen to their spiritual leaders if they ask them to stay away from Talibans or their acts or their ideology.

Therefore, it is the responsibility of our Ulema and politicians to come clear on this issue of war on terror. They should send a united message to nation and should work for a clear and common strategy. Army will win this war only if nation is united and supporting them and this is not possible without the active role of politician and religious leaders.

WERE OUR ARMED FORCES REALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR NEGLIGENCE ON OPERATION GERONIMO?

Just like my all other Pakistani brothers and sisters, I was also shocked when I heard the news that Pakistan armed forces and intelligence agencies did nothing in Operation Geronimo. I also raised many questions which I mentioned in my previous article (to read my previous article please go to this link: ). Through my article I asked from the chief of armed forces that why they let a foreign force to attack on our sovereignty. But now as picture is getting clear we have answers to some of our questions.

Question 1 was about how American helicopters entered Pakistan without being noticed? Explanation which was given by ISPR seems to be logical if it is true what they are saying and I believe that it is true. Pakistan is not facing any threat from Afghan border and therefore much of our radar system was placed on border with India. Besides

Question 2 was that when armed forces knew about foreign helicopters on their soil why didn’t they respond? Explanation offered by ISPR is that COAS called Air Chief and informed him about helicopters. Air chief ordered his men to shoot those helicopters. But when our night vision jet fighters reached Abbottabad, Americans had already finished the operation and they had already gone back.

After these explanations, some of my Pakistani brothers and sisters are still questioning their armed forces for many things like:

Operation lasted for 40 minutes so how it is possible that our jets did not reached at time? Well to my understanding, this operation did not last for 40 minutes. It was only a few minutes operation. As from the new media reports and from US president office, OSAMA BIN LADEN was unarmed. Only one guard from OSAMA’s compound fired which was immediately shot. No other person fired even OSAMA BIN LADEN did not fired as he was unarmed. Now how is it possible that American armed force personnel especially commandoes kept fighting with a single person for 40 minutes? How much ammunition OSAMA had in his compound? Who had more ammunition? OSAMA or American armed forces personnel?

My second argument is that Americans also used bombs which make a person unmoving (according to some media reports). So how is it possible that all of them were not moving and at the same time firing at armed personnel? Therefore I would conclude this point by saying that operation only lasted for few minutes. By the way there is another report from US media that operation Geronimo lasted for only three minutes. This explains that when our fighter jets reached there American helicopters were already back.

Some of Pakistani people are also saying that our armed forces are incapable and same thing can happen to our nuclear assets. Well to make them clear about this thing, there is huge difference between a home and nuclear installation. Security levels are much higher. Americans do not even know where are our nuclear arsenals (according to US’s own media reports) so how they can bomb those places?

Another propaganda by few of the people is that when we are paying so much to army then why they do not have best technology in the world. Answer to this is very simple if one wants to understand. Our major threat is India so our whole technology is India centric. This time it was a world super power that has such kind of technology which no other country has. Take the example of stealth helicopters used in this operation. Besides this high-tech radars have a life of 9 years at most and they need overhauling after three years. These radars are very expensive and a country like Pakistan cannot afford such technology.

At the end I would like to address those especially US and Indian officials who are maligning our intelligence agency that they are incapable. Well for them, I would say that where were they when CIA failed to even get a hint of 9/11? Was CIA incapable? Similarly, where was RAW when Mumbai attacks happened? Was RAW incapable? If YES then why they do not accept it first? ISI is not GOD that they will know each and everything but at the same time I will say that they are very powerful and OSAMA BIN LADEN would have never been traced if ISI was not capable enough.

Our armed forces are doing best which they can do in their budget so we should support them in this hour of need because we are living in a free country because of them. Otherwise who knows what will happen if our armed forces and intelligence agencies become like President and Prime Minister Houses.

Explanation Required by the People of Pakistan from Chief of Army Staff and Intelligence Chief

I was a strong supporter of Pakistan Army and Intelligence agency (ISI) and most probably will remain so (because of my emotional attachment). But I have to say that from last few months I have not even a small clue that how our army and intelligence agency is defending our country. They are making blunders which can bleed us heavily in future. Recently few such incidents occurred which forced me to write about this.

1.     Raymod Davis: Entire world knew that he was not a diplomat and he killed two citizens of Pakistan and even that not in self defence. Only GOD knows what he was up to. But what happened to him? He enjoyed a good time in jail of Pakistan and later on he was allowed to move to USA even without passport. What was our army and agencies doing at that time? Why he was allowed to leave the country when his case was in court? It seems foolish to think that our army and ISI had nothing to do with it. How it is possible that army or ISI chiefs had nothing to do with it when almost every top level decision is endorsed by them. People of Pakistan have the right to know that what exactly happened in Raymond Davis case.

2.     Death of Osama Bin Laden: Pakistan’s stance on Osama Bin Laden was that he is not in our territory. Now all of a sudden he was killed by CIA operatives in Abbottabad, Pakistan. A city which is hub of Pakistan military besides GHQ, Rawalpindi. There are many questions which need to be answered by the government of Pakistan and especially the heads of most powerful institutions of Pakistan (Army and ISI). The most important question to be answered is that how Osama Bin Laden succeeded in finding a hideout under the nose of army and ISI?

3.      Sovereignty: Where is the sovereignty of Pakistan? What was the oath of army and ISI chief when they were appointed? Aren’t they under the oath that they will protect their homeland from all external threats at any cost? If so then what were they doing when USA personnel completed a major operation near Pakistan Military Academy (PMA)? Why there is no official statement from ISPR that what and how this operation was conducted and above all who conducted this operation? If Pakistan was not involved in this operation then who will guarantee that tomorrow any other country will not act in the same way? Can we trust our army and intelligence agencies that they are capable of defending us?

I would like to suggest to the heads of ISI and Pakistan army that please come forward and explain to the nation that what really happened in these incidents. Take your nation into confidence because they will fight and die for you. USA or any other country will never come to help you. We have tested them again and again. Do not betray your people, they are your real ASSETS...Remembers what your predecessor said: FRIENDS BUT NOT MASTERS

Who is Responsible for the Sufferings of People of Pakistan?

To My Children (People of Pakistan)

This letter is to my sons and daughters who claim that they love their mother but they never mean that. I trusted them in every crisis I faced that they will come and help me but they never listened to my cries. I gave them shelter, food, security, freedom and above all RECOGNITION in the world but today when I needed them most they have deceived me. I am heartbroken but still I will pray for them that wherever they go in this world they live happily. However I have one question from them so it will be a favour by them to me if they answer to me about this.

Are you sure that all the sufferings or pains which you are facing today are because of your motherland (Pakistan)?

Let’s analyze that how many times I called you to come forward and help me in solving your problems but you ignored all the calls of your “so called” beloved motherland. I knew that you will face these issues at some time in future but you never listened.

1.   I looked towards you when my body was cut into two pieces but you never responded. Where were you when your mother was being divided because of the ego of your so called beloved leaders? Why you never protested for the unity of your motherland and instead you followed you beloved leaders and let my enemies succeed in dividing me? Do the children who love their mother behave like this when somebody attacks or hurts their mother? Decide by yourself that whether it was your motherland’s fault or yours?

2.     I thought you will learn a lesson when you tore me apart but you again forgot me and when I was left with four parts, you starting to give me slow poison in the form of sectarianism and above all provincialism. You loved more to be called as a Punjabi, Balochi, Sindhi or Pathan than being called as a Pakistani. Today you are again going to divide me and I am waiting for that date. I will not blame you but will simply ask from you that whose fault is this? Am I responsible for this?

3.     You again and again select the same people to be your leaders and they eat my body every time they rule me. Whose fault is this? Am I responsible for selecting those corrupt people time and again?

4.     I am daily bombarded by foreign forces but you my children do nothing. You only come out when your leaders say you to do this. Then why you are cheating on me by saying that you love me? I call you daily to come and help me but you never listen and when your leaders call you, you even forget to put on your shoes and run towards them. Why these double standards? You say you love me but never come to save me instead you love those of your leaders who are eating me slowly but surely.

5.    You do corruption, robberies, rapes, killings and don’t know what else on my chest, but still you say you love me. Knowing the fact that all these things are maligning and killing your mother.

6.     Whenever you want to protest you destroy me by burning tyres on the road, destroying my infrastructure and all other things which you see around. I haven’t seen such children who make their mother ugly by their own hands.

There are so many other questions which I want to ask from you but I leave it to you that you will think by yourself. At the end I would request you my children that please clarify yourself. Do you love me or not? If not then please do not lie to me that you love me, simply tell me that you cannot defend your motherland. I waited for SIX decades that may be someday you will come to save me but now I am tired of waiting. I am surrounded by wolves and unfortunately my children are the LEADERS of those packs of wolves. My eyes are full with tears but still I am happy that at least I am dying through the hands of MY OWN children.

I may not survive for a longer period if you do not come to my help now. But I will always pray for you that wherever you live, may Allah bless all of you..Aameen

Love you all
Your mother
